The Greatest Tragedy

~~~
Denial is one of human natures strategies. “I want to believe this, so I’ll deny anything else.” Often times, what one believes is popular to do so. Moving one off something they have decided to believe is harder than making pigs fly.
It usually doesn’t matter if the opinion is the truth…if one has believed it for a period of time and has defended it aggressively, then it somehow becomes the truth.
If you believe something long enough…it must be true. If it makes sense, it must be true. If it was on the news, it must be true. If the majority believes it…it must be true. Truth is denied for something more fashionable…something that keeps you in favor with others. Human nature would rather believe a lie over the truth.
 The Denial of Truth is the Greatest Tragedy.
 ~~~

Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. (John 18:38)

But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. (John 18: 39,40)

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:5,6)

Have a weekend of good memories…remember a vet.

  1. Many of the fallen heroes and wounded vets I am remembering knew the importance of following the Truth, the Way, and the Life. This lead them in their sacrificial service for us.

  2. LeRoy,

    Have missed you, brother. Glad to see that you’re still the same, and hope all is well with you. Thank you for your stand for truth.

  3. A great post for our post modern era. Thank you.

  4. I lived in that denial and lie believing well. Conforming, thinking everyone around me knew me better than I knew myself. Accepting the labels given. God calls us child…dearly loved…made in his image. He overcomes tragedy! Good words dear friend.

  5. Wonderful message that has resonated in my mind since a very young child! Jesus Christ is the only way, there is no other! And i try to share this in my poetry everyday at my site, so that one might can believe if He changed my life, He surely change theirs…with His evercompassing Love. He is my one true love, and its all because He first loved me! Have a wonderful and blessed weekend!

Thank you for your thoughts.
