Wants and Needs

~~~
 A list of wants could span the globe…a list of needs is short to see.
We live in a world where there is so much more out there to want. Wanting is not wrong, but it can go to the extreme fast and cause numerous problems. We have a built-in ability to justify having almost anything. When we rest our case, a want becomes a need, or so it seems.
Many financial problems result from a confusion of wants vs needs. Many a budget soon fails when wants are mis-identified as needs. To be able to set and stick to priorities is crucial to keeping wants from spilling over to the “need” list.
To be able to recognize real needs is the first step in identifying “wants.”
 A list of wants could span the globe…a list of needs is short to see.
and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
  1. For those who have so much, I wonder if it’s possible anymore to clarify an actual need – the waters are greatly muddied by advertising.
  2. 1 Timothy 6:8
    But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
  3. This was so thoughtful and well put. I need to meditate on this on a daily basis. It is so easy to become bogged down in our wants and think they are needs.
  4. I learned years ago that I must want what I have – before wanting what I don’t. This revelation taught my late husband and I to live a simple life.
