for those I grew up with
The years from birth to 8th grade graduation were the years of carefree days and the comfort of family. There were few responsibilities to speak of, maybe a yard to mow, dishes to wash, trash to tend to and keeping up with your studies kept you in good standing with your mom and dad. An allowance of a quarter or fifty cents a week was a big deal…those were the days. How quickly they went by…those days of old.
Thinking back to the “summers of our youth” can provide a place of rest from the cares of our present days. Give yourself that time this weekend; remember when.
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
(Psalm 103:5 NLT)

How wonderful that you can retain those youthful memories, Butch. I have to look beyond them…

We certainly appreciate those days now, don’t we?
Good memories, Butch. I remember when that 25-cent allowance would buy a vending machine brownie and a grape soda at the city park swimming pool.
