Beyond Impossible

For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God…(Romans 3:23 NIV)

It is difficult to understand why Jesus would care for sinners, but He does.

For God so loved the world,

It is beyond reasoning why He would die for sinners, but He did.

that He gave his one and only Son,

It is impossible to understand why He offers forgiveness to sinners, but He does.

that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)

 + + +

It is beyond difficult, beyond reasoning and beyond impossible to understand why sinners would reject the forgiveness and eternal life that Jesus offers, but they do.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. (John3:19 NIV)

Maybe, that’s what hell is…spending eternity in total torment trying to understand why you rejected Jesus, His forgiveness and eternal life.

The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10 NKJV)

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15 NKJV)

  1. nice post. I think hell is just plain eternal separation from God. How can a spirit be tormented, I have no idea but to say that it must feel guilty.

  6. Hmm. Good point. “Tormented” can be defined in so many different ways. People think it means being hurt physically but there are things that hurt worse than physical pain.

  7. God’s Greatest Gift Available to All

(For) The greatest conclusion that could be drawn. (God) The greatest person in the Universe. (So loved) The greatest extent of the greatest emotion. (The World) The greatest possible inclusion of people. (That He Gave) The greatest resulting expression of that Love that God has for The World. (His Only Begotten Son) The nearest and dearest possesion a person could have and the fullest reflection of Himself. (That Whosoever) The greatest desire of the giver for the greatest number of receivers. (Believeth on/in) The simplest of requirements yet the greatest level of commitment. (Him) That’s JESUS!! Would not (Perish) The greatest, saddest, and most irreversable of ends. But have (Everlasting Life) Followed by the most glorious, happy and ‘indescribable’ Ends.
