Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak, but He is strong.
Anna Bartlett Warner wrote the words as a poem in 1860 and they were first published in a book written by Susan Warner called, “Say and Seal.”
The poem was intended as a comfort to a dying child.
Jesus loves me! Loves me still
Though I’m very weak and ill;
From his shining throne on high
Comes to watch me where I lie.
Jesus loves me! He will stay
Close beside me all the way;
If I love him, when I die
He will take me home on high.
William Bradbury added the tune in 1862.
He added the chorus, “Yes, Jesus Loves Me…”
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
There are more verses to this notable children’s song.
I encourage you to research this song and thoughtfully read the words. In times when our faith is weak and our fear is strong, we could be as a child afraid of the dark…with trembling voice, whispering…”yes, Jesus loves me…yes, Jesus loves me, Yes! Jesus Loves Me…” and with that knowledge, fear cannot win and faith cannot fail.

Yes! Jesus Loves Me…” and with that knowledge, fear cannot win and faith cannot fail………..AMEN!
When we think of how many beloved Christian hymns were written out of deep adversity, it is a reminder that those times are never lost on God, and hopefully not on us either.
Yes – the simplicity of Gospel. Thanks for sharing.
