The attention and applause of man…“How fine he/she sings…preaches…prays…what a fine Christian.” We should encourage one another and lift each other up. All that we are, all that we have and all that we can do comes from the Creator.
If we begin to think that “we are something” and play into what someone says, then…all is vanity and vainglory…let it not go to your head, rather give God all the praise and glory. There should be concern for only one voice saying to you, “well done…thou good and faithful servant.”

We should do as Paul and give thanks to God for giving others the gifts they have and tell them thank you for their service.
Thank you for the good thoughts. That is a perspective I need to remember, that is all about Him and not about me.
Very similar to my devotion today. When we think we have something to offer the Lord, he can’t use us.
We all need encouragement but should never turn it into vainglory!
amen!
That’s right, the only applause that really matters.
Thank you Brother LeRoy!
Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
I agree with your post. 1Co_10:12 “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” Thank you for this world, and for your faithfulness to our Lord, Butch.
Amen. xx
Thank you for these cautious words. How tempting it can be to think we are something apart from Christ.
