And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3)
Have you ever thought about forever?
Can you imagine an endless time?
We find ourselves in a situation that seems to “last forever.” We remark that we haven’t had such a good time since “forever.” We might say that it seems like “forever ago” since we were young. We make references to “forever” in our lives.
Forever is beyond anything we can imagine. There is no sense of time in forever. Forever has no beginning and forever has no end…as God is, always was and always will be, forever has always been and will always be…eternal.

Can’t fathom that length of time.
I think about “forever” most every day. I often wonder where and what we will find in that “forever”.
It is very hard for me to wrap my mind around forever. It is even harder to think of things in terms of no begining, and no end, eternity, infinity. I do not think our brains are wired to truly understand such things. This is where faith comes in, and becomes central to grounding our belief in an eternal God. Faith helps us because “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen”. Using this Biblical definition of faith, helps me get over the hurdles my mind cannot understand.
