Walking By Faith

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 KJV)

Did you ever try to steer a parked car?

How did that work for you?

The car just sits there, while you go through the motions, right?

There is no direction or purpose because the car is not going anywhere…

Faith is like the parked car…

Without action, faith just sits there.

God’s purpose and direction unfold as you step out by faith.

The Red Sea and the Jordan River parted as God’s people moved by faith.

The Walls of Jericho “came tumbling down” by actions of faith.

The 11th chapter of Hebrews, commonly called the “Faith chapter” speaks of faith in action.

Faith does not require sight.

Faith does not doubt.

Faith requires action.

Faith believes.

Faith knows.

  1. Beautiful, LeRoy!

  2. We got a new car once, and my husband took me outside the house to show it to me. We let our two dogs at the time, Shadow and Woof, come out with us and sit in the car while we sat inside it and Mark showed me all the buttons. We looked back, and the two of them were having just as good of a time as if we had been driving somewhere! So, I guess, the motto of this story is that as long as you are where your Master is, you will have joy!

  3. Bold faith has deep roots in Jesus Christ.
Bold faith has dug deeply into the Word of God.
Bold faith is being confident in who you are in Christ.
Bold faith does not back down during trials and tribulation.
Bold faith does not have a “Plan B”.
Bold faith does not give it a try, bold faith does…

I never thought of faith in terms of steering a parked car. That description fits it well, though.

Thank you for your thoughts.
