Life Without End

And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son and believeth in him may have life everlasting. And I will raise him up in the last day. (John 6:40 Douay-Rheims)

Can you imagine…life without end? A life beyond anything you could possibly imagine awaits the soul of a Believer. “Every one that sees the Son and believes in Him may have life everlasting.”

And how does one believe?

For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10; 9-10 from  the New Living Translation)

With the heart…not the head. Knowledge between the ears is fine, but believing in your heart is what God requires. That’s how one becomes a Believer…that’s how one finds life everlasting…life without end.

As always, the choice is yours.

  1. Would you agree how ever, that there is good in the head knowledge? I believe the scriptures teach that we should have it, but as you say, this is not the saving grace, that belongs to God, who in is loving mercy, opens our hearts to the scriptures in order to produce understanding and faith so that we might accept him as both Lord and savior–our treasure.

But after we receive this salvation, it is our responsibility to seek his wisdom in the scriptures and through prayer. This gives us understanding in both the scriptures and the ways of the world so that we can spot and avoid its (the worlds) traps.

    Psalms 119: 99, 104-106
I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.

104 Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules.

    And also,

    2 Timothy 2:15
Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    2 Timothy 3:
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it
15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through Faith in Christ Jesus.

I concurr with your post that knowledge without faith is useless, for this s a biblical principle: James 2: You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder!

I do worry about the lack of effort on the church’s part to really study and know the word of GOD, however. Not that all are guilty of this, but to some extent most of us are to some measure. I just pray that we as a body can be based in faith in Christ Jesus, and be built up in knowledge and wisdom through his power and the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

    Colossians 1: 9-10
9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
