Could You Imagine…

cropped-bible-header-3The scriptures are full of advice, commands, warnings, consolation and hope. There are countless stories to rival any best seller. Then again, the Bible is a best seller.

I wonder if the Bible is a best seller because it’s the “best bought” or the “best read?”

A reader, I am sure, would be awe-struck to have met a Hemmingway or a Frost in their day. Imagine telling these authors in a “stumbling word pattern” how much they have read and enjoyed their writings.

I wonder if the same “awestruck scenario” would take place if they were to meet the Author of the Bible. Could they tell Him how much they have read His writings?

There are those who would risk their lives to possess even one page of scripture. Think how thrilled they would be to own as many Bibles, in as many versions as they would like. Could you imagine risking your life for one page of scripture?

Something to think about over coffee as we start a new week.

Coffee does taste good this morning!

Amazingly, we have that opportunity every day through a little used discipline called ‘prayer.’

  3. If memory serves me, Corrie TenBoom only had a page or two to live on for a while and she ended up doing mighty things.

    1 John 2:27 KJV

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
