What God Says

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV)

Foolishness! That’s the consensus of those who look upon the cross as a fictitious waste of time and living. They are obvious in their choice as they pursue their lifestyle of drinking, drugs and pleasure. These appear to be their god.

Then again, how obvious are they? We see the outward appearance, but God knows their heart. We may tend to label them and shut them out, but God tends to love them and invite them in. We claim to read the scriptures, but do we live them?

Some thoughts, as we step over our opinions and search out what God says.

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. (John 3:16 The Message)

  1. Beautiful, Butch… I’m so grateful that you’ve been in my life and have been teaching me so much over time. You have no idea how much of an impact you’ve had on me. I’ve always been able to watch your example to learn how to be a better Christian. I thank God for you.

  2. I like this. My “Like” doesn’t work. I must do a better job of loving everyone and criticizing or castigating anyone for their beliefs or opinions. Jesus most powerful command was, “Love one another.” We don’t choose who “another” includes or excludes. Great thoughts. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I have nominated you for The Beautiful Blogger Award.

Thank you for your thoughts.
