Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. (Proverbs 16:24 NKJV)
Harsh words spoken from a parent to a child, from one spouse to another, from friend to friend or from a boss to an employee only hurt both parties. Maybe, the intention isn’t in the speaker’s thoughts, but because of temperament or a lack of patience, the words spring forth with a harshness that benefits no one.
Our thoughts and temperment deliver words from our mouth. Like honeybees, our words can sting or present as sweet honeycomb. The latter is pleasant to the soul. These are the pleasant words.
