For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. (James 2:10-11 NKJV)
Sin is sin. If you break one law, you are guilty of all the law. Are you serious?
This is hard to accept because in my youth I was taught that the severity of the law broken is what matters; the “venial-mortal sin” theory. I can exceed the speed limit or roll through a stop sign, but should consider that no big deal compared to murder; the religion of “rationalizing” according to man. Really?
I wonder who didn’t get the memo?
