It’s said that youth is wasted on the young. It is also said that one is too soon old and too late smart. Both have validity and both speak the truth…depending on where you are standing.
For the young, there is no tomorrow and wisdom is an illusion. They live for today and believe that tomorrow will take care of itself. Even in this statement, there are biblical truths. Yet, truth that is not grounded in reality becomes elusive.
For the elderly, there are less tomorrows than yesterdays. In retrospect, they examine their lives for a sense of accomplishment. With their mistakes noted, they learn to focus on that which they can change and seek the wisdom to know the difference.
Life has many faces…from birth to death…depending on where you are standing.
There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.
So true… As a middle-aged woman, I’m beginning to let go of things I thought were the most important, and embrace truth.
