Want is Never Satisfied

Want is a small word with a big appetite. Wants can be for money, power, of the flesh, materialistic. Want is never satisfied. Want never has enough. Want can easily become your whole focus. Want and contentment cannot co-exist. You can choose to chase after “wants” or to live with contentment.

1 Timothy 6:8

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

1John 2:16

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

  1. I love the intensity of the thoughts conveyed with such simplicity!!:)

  2. The best want is to want to be more like Jesus.

  3. As the saying says “it’s better to want what you have, and not have what you want.”

  4. I lack for nothing when all I “want” is to be more like Jesus. ~ Blessings ~
