A Still Small Voice

And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:12

We, so often, expect fanfare, writing on the wall, a display of power or a booming voice from heaven to answer our prayers…to show us the way. Silence is not what we want after requesting…we want an answer.

Yet…silence remains.

Without, there is noise; within, a still small voice. If we will not quiet the noise, how do we expect to hear the whisper of a still small voice.

The Father is not limited to how He responds to His children…
it is rather the children who limit the Father.

  2. I absolutely love that still small voice!

  3. This is so true. We must get into the habit of quieting the noise around us to hear that still small voice and to also realize that God speaks however he wants to. Scripture tells us that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not ours. This is something we must digest daily. Can’t begin to imagine how how we’ve missed out on. God bless you brother Butch.

  4. Thanks for the reminder, to be still and know that I am God.
    Keep the Faith!
