The Simplicity that is in Christ

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV).

~~~
Each morning as the sun spills first light over the horizon, the birth of a new day is before us. As followers of Christ, we have another opportunity to keep it real, to keep it simple.
All too often, our human nature can be caught up in one “righteous” cause or another. All too often, we allow ourselves the “self-justified” act of arguing ( or does debate sound better).
As Christ followers, we might want to remember that “this world is not our own, we’re just passing through…” We might want to remember that the god of this world is satan.
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4 NLT)
We might want to remember that there is more power in closet prayer, than in public confrontation. We might want to remember our task is not to save a “devil’s world”, but to share the good news of rescue to others.
It’s not about saving the ship, rather it’s about saving the passengers, not by beating them with a “self-righteous” bat, but with a loving hand and heart to share with them The Way, The Truth and The Light. This is what He asks us to do. Remember His words…
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
(Romans 12:19 KJV)
As a new day begins, keep it real…keep it simple…
for there is “Simplicity in Christ”.
  3. This really applies to how upset some people are over the recent Supreme Court decision. God is still in control and our best hope of turning our country around is personally, obeying God ourselves.
    I love this. So often our emotions get in the way of our walk. This is a great reminder.
