And They Lived Happily Ever After

cropped-cropped-cropped-1831.jpgA tale from a storybook starts out with “Once upon a time”. The story unfolds page by page by page. Eventually, the story comes to an end.

This life is similar to a storybook in that there is a beginning and an end. The story on the pages varies, yet in many ways is the same.

As the author of our own story, you’d think we could make each page the way we want it to be. Yet, somehow, some pages do not turn out as imagined. Then, before we realize it, the story ends.

Thankfully, a storybook, doesn’t contain all of who we are. For from another book, there is a promise of a life eternal beyond this earthly existence. There are so many lines on so many pages that speak of this, but there is one most of all that gives us a chance to choose our story…

For God so loved us that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that if we believe in Him, we will not perish, but have eternal life. *

We each have a chance to have our real life story end with the phrase that we only seem to find in a fairy tale “And they lived happily ever after”.

*John 3:16 (paraphrase)
