Early Morning Light

Words of the night on a canvas of white.

Hoot of an owl in a tree nearby.

Darkness remains.

Thoughts in the night keep one from sleeping.

Words on paper looking for meaning.

Darkness remains.

All through the night; these weary hands type;

One finger, then two; no more, no less.

Darkness remains.

Middle of the night; tired eyes open wide;

Long for slumber and leave thoughts behind.

Darkness remains.

Now quiet the night, the owl has found rest.

Words, once thoughts, are finally expressed.

Early morning light.

  1. Butch,
    I wanted you to know that I’m emptying out my emails and posts like yours. I’ve been battling bronchitis, ptsd and depression symptoms for a few weeks. Too many emails and posts stacked up to read, so I’m starting over beginning tomorrow.

  2. Very nice! 😃

Thank you for your thoughts.
