Ever find yourself frustrated trying to maintain a relationship when the other side has the self-given impression that they are okay…it is you that has issues? Ever have a relationship with no depth, no roots…everything is surface? These type of relationships are the definition of dysfunctional.
A relationship…husband and wife, family, friends…cannot thrive if it is one sided. With only surface roots, a tree will not stand…a relationship cannot thrive if it is built on sand.
Can two walk together, except they be agreed. Amos 3:3
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
