Have you ever started to do something, only to stop before you reached your goal? How many times have you repeated this process?
You set out to accomplish something (lose weight, stop smoking, save money, etc.), then before you get a good start, you stop. Always, there are the reasons why you stopped. These reasons are designed to make you feel better, but they do not offset the feeling of failure once more.
A familiar pattern for all of us at sometime or another. The more the pattern is repeated, the sooner the time comes when we no longer try. It’s not something we like to think about, but it happens.
Think about this the next time you set out to accomplish something, “One more step can make the difference between success or failure.”
When you reach the point where you start to think about stopping…remind yourself that this goal is important to you and that stopping usually happens about “one step befor you accomplish your goal.”
