The uniform no longer fits the one who joined many years ago. Memories are all that remain…a tattered ribbon, a small claim to fame. Shaky hand to chest as the flag goes by…a smile on aging lips as a tear leaves the eye. This day, most of all, is important, for it honors service to the land of the free.
