Quick to Worry, Slow to Pray

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6 NIV)

As if it will change anything, we are, all too often, quick to worry. Maybe if we worry hard enough and long enough, it will make a difference. Sadly, the only difference worry makes is within…your peace of mind.

In His wisdom, God directs us to pray about anything that we are anxious about. He wants us to talk to Him, to trust Him with our cares rather than worry about them.

If we do this, the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (4:7)

God gives us choices. We can worry or we can give our concerns to Him.

Butch is one of my favorite blogs I read daily. This one is particularly applicable to me, and probably to others. Butch blogs over at Wordsmith’s Desk.
